Where possible, promotion and prevention are integrated into other
Federation activities, and particularly the biennial World Congresses.
Australia, the location of the 2003 World Congress in Melbourne, is an
acknowledged leader in the field. The scientific program committee for
Melbourne, headed by Prof. Graham Burrows, has included promotion and
prevention themes throughout the five Congress streams and publicized
them widely, starting in 2001.
